Dime to Retire is a 1955 Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoon directed by Robert McKimson.[1] The cartoon was released on September 3, 1955, and stars Daffy Duck and Porky Pig.[2]

Plot

Daffy Duck, acting as a shady hotel-keeper, tricks Porky Pig into staying at his hotel for a dime. He then orchestrates a series of disturbances using animals, charging Porky increasingly exorbitant fees to remove them. It starts with a mouse, escalates to a cat, and spirals out of control with a boxer dog, lion, and elephant. Each eviction fee climbs higher until Porky is fed up and leaves without paying.

In retaliation, Porky sets off explosives hidden in his baggage, causing Daffy's hotel to explode. As Daffy's feathers catch fire, he dashes away, leaving chaos in his wake.

Home media

Dime to Retire is included in the Looney Tunes Superstars-Daffy Duck: Frustrated Fowl DVD, presented uncensored and uncut, albeit cropped to widescreen as seen in its theatrical release. It is also featured on the VHS release, Daffy Duck: Madcap Mania.
