English: Shoebury Roundhouse (2) This is a small fortress on the Old Ranges sea wall at Shoeburyness which dates back to 1872. It is empty now except for rubble but once housed two quick loading guns. The Roundhouse was used for experimental gunfire and is now a listed building. This area is out of bounds to the public due to risk of unexploded objects and cancer-causing beryllium from gunfire residue. Please see my other pictures and visit my website if you like this sort of thing as I have many photos of this area of the Old Ranges.
