Raghunathpur is a census town in Buxar District in the Indian state of Bihar. It is approximately 41 km from Buxar. Brahmpur is a large village and corresponding community development block in Buxar district of Bihar.[1] It is known for its temple of Shiva, its religious practices, and its cattle fair. People visit Brahmapur to perform religious rituals in the temple of Shiva.

Baba Brahmeshwar Nath Temple

Brahmeshwar Temple is the most ancient and sacred place of Buxar district. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and a lot of devotees come here with the wishes and they believe that their wishes get fulfilled with the grace of God. During Shivaratri, a mass level of devotees used to gather here.

Raghunathpur is connected both by road and train. It has a railway station under same name with IR Station code Raghunathpur RPR. It also serves as a Junction for Road at Brahmpur with roads to Jagdishpur on south, Nainijore on north, Buxar on west and Arrah on East side.

As of 2001 India census,[2] Raghunathpur had a population of 5601. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Raghunathpur has an average literacy rate of 53%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 62%, and female literacy is 42%. In Raghunathpur, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.
