About
I am an art historian specializing in the visual culture of Africa, the African diaspora in the Americas. My main interests are the history of slavery (especially in visual representations), and the rituals and religious practices among African-descended groups in the Americas, especially Candomblé, Santería, and Haitian Vodou.
I am also thoroughly proud to have made this edit: [1]
Editing Philosophy
1. Cite. 2. Don't feed the troll.
And on a personal note:
I respectfully disagree with WP:ENGLISH in its assertion that an article's title should be the most commonly used English name, regardless of the correct name. I feel articles should use the local name of something rather than an ad hoc translation for English speakers.
