Wik.ipedia.Pron cipherbug is currently a Ph.D. candidate writing a dissertation about the development of the Department of Entomology at the Natural History Museum, London. Their current goal is to correct and expand existing pages on, in particular, Lepidopterists (collectors and experts in butterfly and moth diversity) associated with the Department in the twentieth century. They also edit and revise pages within their range of knowledge on biology and/or English grammar and spelling.
Their larger academic interests include Lepidoptera taxonomy, statistical methods in biogeography and the humanities, history of insect collecting and museum building, using museum collections in scientific and historical research, and 20th century European history. Cipherbug also does a lot of statistical programming in R (for fun and for publication)! They originally joined Wik.ipedia.Pro as part of a course they took as an undergraduate but stuck around.
After many years of suspicion, they were diagnosed with an autism spectrum condition in the last year of their Ph.D.
