"What it should look like"
- Compare it to this image of what it should look like:
I think this sentence should hedge a bit. On my system the font is smaller and not antialiased but the characters are correct. Saying my system should look like that is telling me I'm configured wrong, which I don't believe is true. Tempshill (talk) 16:17, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- How's that now? ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 16:57, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Is it just me or do some of the kanji look like Chinese fonts? They are slightly different from the Japanese font; try using Google Translate with the left side in Chinese and the right side in Japanese, then copy and paste them to the left side for comparison. Chrome
Need to update it for Chrome. Donnie Love (talk) 00:49, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

- I take that back. It was announced five days before the original question and I wasn't aware of it. Seeing as it won't be released until the second half of 2010, I don't think we need to update anything as it's still being developed. I suggest waiting until a public version is released before posting anything about how to enable languages in it. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 05:30, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
Texting Japanese characters
I have added several names written in Japanese characters, so I am wondering if anyone can translate them into Japanese words. If you are in the mood of doing this, feel free to translate them from my userpage. JMBZ-12 (talk) 15:09, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
- The words listed here already have Japanese, so I'm not sure what you are looking for. Are you wanting rōmaji? Translation from dust to 砂埃 (suna hokori, meaning "cloud of dust") or 煤塵 ("baijin", meaning "dust" or "dust particles")? Please elaborate on your request. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 19:53, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, rōmaji would be nice. JMBZ-12 (talk) 04:02, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
- I suggest posting over on WT:JA. You'll hit a wider audience there. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 17:36, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

:-)
Hehe, the text is fragment of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood." :-) Kubek15T CS 18:57, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- Which text? ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 09:07, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
- This one: すべての人間は、生まれながらにして自由であり、
かつ、尊厳と権利とについて平等である。 人間は、理性と良心とを授けられており、 互いに同胞の精神をもって行動しなければならない。 Kubek15T CS 17:22, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- Aha. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 19:23, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
External link with a download to the Windows XP East Asian lang pack
I seem to have found another download for the aforementioned language pack. I would advise people to double check it for viruses before installation, as I am unable to check it at the moment. Here's the link. This may be useful for people still using windows XP, but once again, I have not been able to determine the nature of this download at the moment. I have added it to the page to potentially help people, with a warning. Could someone help me verify it please? :P - Gallefray. Moving the Note section down
I am going to move the Note section to the end of the article. If a user arrives at this Help page looking for information about installing Japanese fonts, they don't need a detailed explanation of the {{nihongo}} templates. Let's get right to installing the fonts, and then people who are interested can read the Note. --Margin1522 (talk) 20:12, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
