Satire or Parody?
"Their format was typically to satirize the medium in which they were performing, ..." Is this right? The use of the word "satirize"? I'm a long-time fan of Bob and Ray and think of them more as parodists than satirists. Bob and Ray parody the entire genre of old-time commercial radio, including the news, dramas, and advertisements. In many ways they seem too sweet-natured for satire. I wish they both were still around and working to parody current radio. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.107.84.160 (talk) 21:30, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Parody, satire, and lampoon are all synonymous in present-day usage. Pepso2 (talk) 06:55, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
deadpan style
Those who've never heard Bob & Ray might wonder what was so funny about them. ("Lawrence Fechtenberger...?") What this otherwise excellent article neglects to mention is Bob & Ray's utterly straight-faced, deadpan style. Unlike any other radio comic I've heard, they never convey any awareness that what they're doing is funny. WilliamSommerwerck (talk) 17:49, 25 December 2012 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Bobandray.jpg
Image:Bobandray.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wik.ipedia.Pro article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wik.ipedia.Pro:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wik.ipedia.Pro policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
