Presidential Unit Citation
Just so that it is clear, the PUC is the highest unit award given by the US and is equivalent to the degree of heroism required for a Distinguished Service Cross to be awarded to an individual. While the US does have a higher individual award, the Medal of Honor, there is no unit award that is comparable. If a unit has a degree of heroism required for a Medal of Honor, they will still receive the PUC because it is the highest unit award.
International operations
Removed from main page: " With the majority of the Norwegian public moderately to strongly disinclined towards the NATO operations in Afghanistan and the US-led Iraq War, many were shocked to realise that Norwegian troops were in a shooting war. Several political parties made it their cause to see the withdrawal of all Norwegian troops from Iraq in the 2005 national elections, but their progress is still confined to inter-party debate as of October 2005.
Despite these domestic disagreements, the MJK has been set in readiness for a third deployment to Afghanistan, and it seems likely that they will have a third tour of duty, making them the most experienced combat troops Norway has to offer."
I removed this text primarily because it is outdated and because it mixes two subjects. MJK was not in Iraq and the withdrawal of Norwegian troops from Iraq did not become a major election subject and AFAIK only one party made an election pledge to withdraw troops from Iraq. Troops were later withdrawn from Iraq, but withdrawal from Afghanistan was not an issue. Public opinion on the Afghanistan war are very different from those on the Iraq war. Some people were not doubt shocked to learn that Norwegian troops had shot at someone, but most people know that engagement in war zones means you sometimes have to use force and that the Norwegian military have done so on many occations before Afghanistan. What the Hell are you talking about?
"and that they, together with Forsvarets Spesialkommando and the Special Air Service used sniper teams to assassinate several Provisional Irish Republican Army (PIRA) members in Northern Ireland. Neither of these rumours have been confirmed by the Norwegian government"
Don't post rumours on an encyclopedia, especially stupid uninformed rubbish like this. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. 85.134.172.149 (talk) 13:42, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
- As long as it stated in the article that these are rumours, I don't see how it can be a problem. Most of the work specialforces do, is kept secret.Mortyman (talk) 18:38, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey buddy. Thanks for your tireless efforts as an admin I'm sure being a middle aged virgin is worth it. At least you are dedicating most of your time to something so worthwile. We all know that this article started out as mild bullshit and has since mutated into full blown bullshit yet you so desperately need to protect it.
For which I thank you because this article sums up Wik.ipedia.Pro perfectly non factual garbage that no one (except you and your ilk) takes seriously. Articles written by people who are not subject matter experts which are not peer reveiwed....
Anyway thanks for the laughs anthony. :-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by SirRayStantz (talk • contribs) 06:54, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
