|
- Template {{Redirect category shell}} may be used to add one or more rcat templates, along with their parameters and categories, to a redirect. For more information, see the documentation page below.
When used by itself:
- From or to a drug trade name: This is a redirect from (or to) the trade name of a drug to (or from) the international nonproprietary name (INN).
This template is used on approximately 23,000 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them. |
This template should not be substituted nor used to tag soft redirects. |
Usage
- This type of redirect is specified at Wik.ipedia.Pro:WikiProject Drugs/General/Naming of drug pages. It places pages in Category:Redirects from trade names and Category:Printworthy redirects by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wik.ipedia.Pro articles in printed versions. Mainspace redirects from the trade names of drugs are suitable for a printed version. In other words they are printworthy.
- Add this rcat to a redirect page (not a talk-page redirect) in the following manner:
#REDIRECT [[(target article title)]]
{{Rcat shell|
{{R from trade name}}
{{R printworthy}}
}}
- Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
#REDIRECT [[(target article title)]]
{{R from trade name}}
- This is in accord with instructions found at WP:REDCAT.
- Use this rcat to tag any mainspace redirect from (or to) the trade name of a drug to (or from) the International Nonproprietary Name (INN). Since the complementary rcat, {{R to trade name}}, redirects here, it can be used for those few redirects that are titled as INNs and that target trade names.
