Template talk:Cities of Poland

Is the goal of the template to list the principal cities in order of descending population? If so, then it's a little off. If that's not the goal, then I'll alphabetize the list. Appleseed 18:06, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not getting into an edit war with you over this, but what you claim is an "established standard" is clearly not by the disclaimer: This is for informational purposes: listing here does not imply endorsement. Your format, which oddly enough sets the flag afloat somewhere in center right, far off the right border, appears in about four or five boxes, far from a "standard". You might also want to cut down on the language you use on other good-faith editors. In conjunction with your poor spelling it makes you come across as a bit limited. ~ trialsanderrors 05:19, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It might not be an "endorsement", but consistency (mostly in color here) is good. Besides, that version was needlessly constricted and poorly coded. My spelling, as far as I am aware, is no worse than any other users, although I readily admit issues with my computer's spacebar. Circeus 05:22, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Color is not grounds for reversion. Explain poorly coded. Clearly a template that can't fix the flag to the right border shouldn't be held up as an example for good coding. ~ trialsanderrors 05:30, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(Moved to Template talk:Poland)

Use of the <br> hack over a style="clear:both;" is poor coding, as is needlessly repeating a text-align:center for each cell. I'm sorry about the flag thing. As a user of Firefox, I often forget about needed code for things to display correctly in IE. It should be fixed now.
"Color is not grounds for reversion." Sure it is. I've reverted (and got concurring opinions) Template:Green Day over that. Circeus 13:22, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

re: my last edit

I am currently being bold and editing all the divisions footers so they have a consistent formatting. I have chosen to let the cities list inside (although they probably should be separated in a distinct template, I'll see about that later) for now. Circeus 03:43, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template

This template now only lists Poland's principal cities. I don't think it serves much purpose and suggest it be deleted. Appleseed (Talk) 20:49, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I wouldn't shed any tears if it went, but it could conceivably be a useful starting point for navigation from the Poland page, so I've put it there, and will also put in on the pages for the individual cities when I get round to it. I've also rearranged the cities in what I believe is descending order of population (though I'm not sure what's the latest on Łódź v. Kraków). Below Toruń I've included only those cities which are voivodeship capitals (or joint capitals). (This means the largest city not to be included is Gliwice - no particular reason.)--Kotniski (talk) 17:52, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
