Notability of Art International Radio
A tag has been placed on Art International Radio requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wik.ipedia.Pro. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wik.ipedia.Pro guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. De728631 (talk) 19:08, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wik.ipedia.Pro, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wik.ipedia.Pro's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
- linking to the Wik.ipedia.Pro article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wik.ipedia.Pro:Spam); and,
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wik.ipedia.Pro when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. De728631 (talk) 19:08, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
This kind of activity is considered spamming and forbidden by policies, and also violates our username policy.
However, if you feel that there has been a mistake in your blocking, please appeal this block by adding the text{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below or email the administrator who blocked you. Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Please check that your new username has not already been taken by checking this list. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:05, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
{{unblock|I made a foolish decision in choosing the username Artonair, which is the website for - but not the name of - Art International Radio. I am an unpaid part-time intern at Art International Radio and was never told to create a username in reference to them or to write any articles for them; in fact, I've been asked to do very little for them other than photocopying and stapling. Artonair is not the username of an organization but the username of an individual who didn't fully understand Wik.ipedia.Pro policy on the matter. Please reconsider; I've clearly made a mistake and, now that I understand the rules, I will be sure to never breach them again. I apologize for having done this in the first place. But I truly cannot emphasize enough that I am in no way representative of Art International Radio; they never told me to do anything related to Wik.ipedia.Pro or to try to otherwise advertise their organization, and I do not want them getting embroiled in this mistake of mine. I'm sorry. If I am able to have my account unblocked, I would like to change my username to 1le0nny8. Thank you so much for your time.Artonair (talk) 19:22, 24 March 2009 (UTC)}}
Thank you, Mangojuice, for your help. I certainly promise that I will not contribute to this or any Alanna Heiss-related page again. However, it seems I still cannot change my username; I'm still blocked. For this reason, I cannot post this on your talk page to bring it more directly to your attention. What might I do? Furthermore, is it possible to have the conflict-of-interest banner removed from the top of the Alanna Heiss article? Thanks so much for your time and understanding.Artonair (talk) 14:26, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- You have definitely been unblocked. Also: unless and until most of the Heiss article is written by other people, the COI tag must stay on. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:04, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, Orange Mike. It actually says that I will stay blocked until 20:44, 25 March 2009; does this sound right: that a little waiting time must pass before I can change my username? Or am I still doing something wrong? It definitely won't let me change my name, edit any pages, or comment on talk pages. I do have one more question - or, rather, several questions under a similar theme - and I truly hope that these are not burdensome; I am just, as is no doubt obvious, not well-acquainted with Wik.ipedia.Pro's policies, and am eager to learn them. So: since Mangojuice did say that, in his or her opinion, I "have no conflict of interest," does that not then mean that there is, in fact, no conflict of interest in the article? This naturally begs the question: why, if there is no conflict of interest, should there remain a COI tag on the article? Do more people have to weigh in? I'm asking not out of personal interest; I am simply just very embarrassed that what I undertook as an endeavor intended simply to add to Wik.ipedia.Pro's scope - an endeavor entirely removed from the expressed desires and initiatives of Art International Radio and Alanna Heiss, on whom I composed most of the article - may now reflect poorly upon the organization, as if it somehow had something to do with the creation of this article. I must assure you that in no way did it have any influence on this article; I did this entirely by myself. Feel free all you want, as you should, to disparage my username or block me, even if only for some time and before I change my username, from the system; but it seems unfair to have this wariness effectively extend to Alanna Heiss, who had no say whatsoever in the article about her. If, as one of the Administrators has already stated, there is no conflict of interest, why must there remain this tag? It seems to me that you still think that there may be a conflict of interest; if this is the case, I am truly sorry, and do not know how to convince you otherwise. But, since another Administrator has judged otherwise, doesn't this carry any weight? What must occur for a tag to be removed? I apologize for my ignorance of so much of Wik.ipedia.Pro policy, and am striving to learn as much as I can about them. Thank you so much for your time and patience. Artonair (talk) 15:29, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- I've looked over the Alanna Heiss article and have now removed the COI tag. You have no conflict of interest. It did no harm in suggesting that the article be reviewed, but there's no need for it to stay there long term like some kind of albatross, just because you chose a poor username when you first joined up. I'm also nominating the page for Did you know?, which may give it a spotlight on the main page. Mangojuicetalk 06:08, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

- It appears my welcoming you was badly timed as you appear to be indefinitely blocked. I'm not sure if the block was necessary, but it might be easier if you just create a new username. Read the instructions above on how to get unblocked and change your username. I tried to reply to your stuff on the editor assistance page. ~a (user • talk • contribs) 16:11, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
