Sourcing on articles

Hello.

I came across your article on Tyrn Flowers. Please have a look at WP:RS regarding sources used as references in articles. There is a link at the top to the page on Perennial sources, which I would recommend checking sources against if you're not sure of using them. I know I check frequently, especially when using sources from countries other than the one I live in that aren't major publications.

I've replaced the Instagram sources. I've also added several news stories rather than relying solely on bios and press releases from the teams in question. This also enabled me to add that he broke the 1983 record for rebounds caught in a single game. There were two controversies that have been added in as well - one in college, and one with the Rabbits. Seeing he signed a two-year contract but was only there for a few months raises immediate questions with any reader.

You may also wish to read through WP:SPORTSPERSON and WP:ANYBIO. And if you ever have any questions, feel free to stop by the Teahouse and ask anyone for help. OIM20 (talk) 00:19, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Children and gossip

Hi - just a note that per WP:NONAME we generally don't name non-notable minor children of people, even if other sources name them. Also, we need to avoid WP:GOSSIP and fluff content in our biographical articles. We don't need to detail every dating partner, engagement, pregnancy announcement. Only notable events. Check WP:BIO and WP:BLP. --ZimZalaBim talk 20:56, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon

Hello Sportsagentsam. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wik.ipedia.Pro's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wik.ipedia.Pro must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wik.ipedia.Pro. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wik.ipedia.Pro is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Sportsagentsam. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Sportsagentsam|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 12:43, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I am no longer an agent. I don't have any undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic. I happen to love sports and read articles closely, but have no financial stakes. Sportsagentsam (talk) 12:45, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thank you. 331dot (talk) 12:47, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding excessive headings

Please don't add "notable alumni" headings to small to medium lists; they are fine for very large lists, but for smaller lists they take up too much space and break alphabetization. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:53, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I personally think the one for Berkshire School should have the notable alumni headings for the various groups. They have quite a number and it's hard to see who was in athletics and who was a business person. They also aren't in alphabetical order which made it hard to tell if someone was even on the list. But going forward I will make sure not to do so. Sportsagentsam (talk) 15:57, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Trejon Jacob moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Trejon Jacob. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and is heavily reliant on non-independent sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
